A former Netherlands international has accused Barcelona of blackmailing Frenkie de Jong and has urged the midfielder to join Manchester United if the La Liga giants continue to 'harass' him.
Earlier this week, MEN Sport revealed that United are still chasing De Jong as they have deemed alternatives to be not on the same level as the Barca man.
However, United officials are growing frustrated having agreed a deal with the La Liga club only for the situation regarding De Jong's deferral of wages to halt any progress.
United have singled De Jong out as their main transfer target this summer and have had a fee agreed with the Catalan club since June.
