A former Manchester United star who got 'bored of money and the attention of women' is now a Roman Catholic priest.Phil Mulryne, who was once tipped as a star of the future for the Red Devils, progressed through the club's academy.
However, he made just one Premier League appearance before joining Norwich for a fee in the region of £500,000 in 1999. Mulryne, now 45, quickly became a fans favourite for the Norfolk club and he won promotion with them back to the top-flight.
As reported by the Mirror, the midfielder made 161 league appearances in total at Carrow Road before departing Norwich to join Cardiff in 2005.He was also capped 27 times by the Northern Ireland national team.
However, his career began to spiral down as he struggled for game time at Cardiff and he spent time at Leyton Orient and King's Lynn Town before retiring from football in 2008.
