Wishaw signed defender Cammy Lawson from Lanark last week – and he helped the club earn their first clean sheet since October on his debut.Beltane Park boss David Dunn snapped up his former Lanark team-mate on Friday and Lawson made a noticeable impact as Wishaw drew 0-0 at home to Yoker. It was the first time since a 3-0 win away at Glasgow United nearly six months ago that the West of Scotland Second Division side have managed not to concede. And Dunn said: “We agreed a fee with Lanark on Friday for Cammy Lawson.“He has agreed to join for 18 months.
He went straight into the team on Saturday and was excellent.“It was a wee bit of a gamble putting him straight in, but he was absolutely brilliant.“I played with Cammy and I know his attributes.
He is a good talker, he’s very good on the ball, a good organiser and a good defender.“It is something that we have been needing because we’ve been losing a lot of silly goals.
We get a clean sheet when he comes in and we haven’t had enough of them this season.“But I won’t be too critical of the players for Saturday.
