Th ex-partner of a senior GMP officer has told a jury he strangled her so hard 'I resigned myself to the fact I was going to die'.
Former chief inspector Mark Warner, 56, is alleged to have set upon his partner at their home in Whitworth, near Rochdale, after she recorded him verbally abusing her.
During the attack in July 2022, Warner screamed he would lose his job and his pension if the recording was heard by colleagues, LancsLive reports.
His partner said: "I felt like he wanted to kill me and knew how to. I had gone from the point where I thought he might. I had resigned myself to it and wanted to die.
