Seasoned agent and commercial exec Ian Moffitt has joined IMG‘s studios business in London after exiting BBC Studios. Moffitt, a former senior agent at ICM Partners and Head of Original Programming at Yahoo, left the BBC’s production and sales wing a few months back, leaving a role as Commercial Director.

He now takes on a newly-created role as Senior VP of Business Development at Endeavor-owned IMG, working closely with VP and Business Development Director, Jo Ormston and reporting to Executive VP, Studios, Barney Francis.

He’ll be based at IMG’s Stockley Park, London office. Sports giant IMG produces live coverage of the English Premier League and English Football League, MLS, the UEFA Champions League and Europa League for CBS, The Ryder Cup, World’s Strongest Man, World Championship Snooker and Grand Slam tennis among others.

It’s also been selling rights to the Saudi Arabia soccer league, which has been drafting in major stars over the past year. “This has been a tremendous year for growth of our studios business, landing globally significant production projects like Apple’s MLS Season Pass, the FIFA Women’s World Cup on BBC, and Channel 4’s England international coverage, with more to come,” said Francis, the former Sky Sports supremo. “We’re delighted to have Ian on board to drive this even further and expand our opportunities both internationally and domestically.” “I’m very much looking forward to working with the team and the opportunity to be part of the growth and expansion of one of the most innovative and respected sports producers in the world.” By providing your information, you agree to our Terms of Use and our Privacy Policy.
