A Scots pensioner was caught on Ring doorbell footage brazenly stealing a Christmas wreath from a family home in Edinburgh.

The incident, which occurred around 9.18pm on December 9, shows the woman inspecting the wreath before snatching it from the door and walking away at the Calders.

Stephanie Johnston, the homeowner, expressed disbelief over the theft, calling it "pure audacity." The wreath, valued at £20, was purchased from Tesco, reports Edinburgh Live. “She’s right in front of the camera,” Stephanie said. “It’s sad times when someone decides to steal a £20 wreath.

Not your stereotypical thief, but the brass neck of this lady—can’t have anything nice these days. You couldn’t make it up.” As the festive season approaches, incidents of theft have been reported across Edinburgh and Scotland, with packages and decorations becoming easy targets.
