Kansas City Chiefs take on the San Francisco 49ers in Super Bowl LVIII, Team Ruff will face Team Fluff at the 2024 Puppy Bowl.For the 20th year, the Puppy Bowl is back, hosting a record-breaking 131 dogs from 73 shelters across the country battle for the Lombarky Trophy.
Six pups with special needs will also be competing this year. The three-hour matchup airs hours before the Super Bowl and aims to raise awareness about adopting pets from shelters and rescuing abandoned animals.“Puppies are taking over the show’s production by operating the cameras and lighting, directing from the control room, and stage managing on the studio floor,” Warner Bros.
Discovery said in a statement. Puppy Bowl XX will be conducted by referee Dan Schachner, who has judged the contest for the last 13 years.
Last year, Schachner told The Post that the bowl game has a 100% adoption rate every year.And while the 131 dogs hitting the field from 73 shelters across the country will probably already be adopted by the time the show airs on Sunday, because the game is always pre-taped in the fall, there are still 14 gorgeous pups and kittens that can be adopted during the broadcast.Team Fluff won last year’s Puppy Bowl and Pomeranian Pickle was crowned as the game’s MVP.The rules are simple: Pups must drag a chew toy to their End Zone in order to score.
