All over-70s in England are being urged to contact the NHS from today if they have not yet had their first dose of the coronavirus vaccine.
Health Secretary Matt Hancock tonight announced a major change in the previous "don't call us, we'll call you" approach to giving jabs in England - in a bid to pick up people the system has missed.
Health chiefs urged over-70s to get in touch even if they'd already been offered the vaccine and turned it down. Dr Nikki Kanani, medical director for primary care at NHS England, told the Downing Street press conference: “If previously you’ve had the offer and you weren’t sure and you’ve changed your mind now, please take up the offer when you’re contacted.
