A number of Manchester City fan groups have pulled together to raise funds for disabled fans hit by new matchday parking charges.

City had never asked disabled fans for any money to park at the Etihad before this season, but a few weeks ago - after season tickets had already been paid for and cup schemes signed up to - a £6 fee was introduced for every matchday.

The club insist that the change is to improve a booking system that has seen a high number of no-shows, although they have faced criticism both for the decision to charge and also the timing of it.

Supporters who will be impacted by the new charge spoke to the Manchester Evening News about their concerns, and now their fellow fans have organised a fundraising effort to help those who will struggle to afford it.
