Friday the 13th is one of the most iconic horror film franchises in the world. The story centers around Jason Voorhees, a boy who was thought to have drowned at Camp Crystal Lake due to negligent camp counselors, who seemingly came back to life in order to exact his revenge.
After the first movie debuted in 1980, the series has spawned over a dozen movies, novels and comic books, and the hockey mask-wearing killer is now one of the most iconic baddies in horror history.
The franchise has unfortunately experienced legal battles regarding disputes over ownership, so there hasn’t been a new addition to the film saga since the 2009 reboot.
However, there’s been some progress, and now there’s a Peacock prequel series on the way. Find out who just got cast as Jason’s mother, Pamela Voorhees!
