Naman Ramachandran The U.K. has placed its Eurovision hopes in the hands of girl group Remember Monday, who will represent the country at the 69th Eurovision Song Contest with their upbeat anthem “What The Hell Just Happened?” The trio — comprising vocalists Charlotte, Holly and Lauren — will be the first girl group to represent the U.K.

at the contest since 1999. The song was co-written by the group alongside BRIT Award nominees Billen Ted (Tom Hollings and Sam Brennan), Thomas Stengaard — who penned Denmark’s 2013 Eurovision winner “Only Teardrops” — and Julie “Kill J” Aagaard.

The band has already built a substantial following on social media, amassing over half a million followers and 11.3 million likes on TikTok, where they’ve gone viral with a cappella covers of songs by artists ranging from Sabrina Carpenter to Queen.

Friends since meeting at school in 2013, the three performers each have musical theater backgrounds, having appeared in West End productions including “Les Misérables,” “The Phantom of the Opera,” “Mary Poppins,” and “Matilda.” They quit their day jobs to become full-time band members in 2023 and completed their first sellout U.K.
