A Eurovision fan has slammed hotels in Liverpool for offering 'ridiculous' prices - after he was offered to keep a booking on a room for 'five times' the price.

Mircea Suciu, from London, said he was 'super excited' to visit the city from London for the weekend of the competition. He managed to book at room at the The Air Host and Stay New Build home near Anfield on Booking.com, the Liverpool Echo reports.

He found the room at the 'standard rate' of around £500 for two nights, but the next day said he received a message from the owners to say there had been an 'error'.

The hotel said that although it did 'not want to be greedy', the initial price offered must go up.
