Dame Esther Rantzen, who is battling terminal cancer, has revealed her dream last supper before she plans to end her life through assisted suicide.
The TV star and founder of Childline, 83, has signed up to the Switzerland-based euthanasia clinic Dignitas.She hopes to be able to end her own life when she feels ready, but doesn't want her family to face legal trouble if they help her travel to Switzerland.
Currently, those who assist someone in seeking assisted suicide abroad could be accused of murder. Dame Esther hopes this law will change before she decides to end her life.
If she does go to Switzerland for life-ending treatment, she would love to have caviar and champagne as her final meal, despite being allergic to both, the Mirror reports.She told LBC Radio: "I'd like to fly off to Zurich with my nearest and dearest.
