I’m fussy about foundations. I’m also not easy to please, considering I want my base to be light but relatively full coverage, sheer but not overly sheer, and long-lasting but not cakey.
How could a product combine all of these things? It hasn’t been able to – until now. I was first sent Estée Lauder’s Double Wear Sheer SPF20 foundation, £35.50 here, last month, but because it’s only just hit shelves this week, I kept it to the side to try at a date when you’d all be able to shop it.
Before I go into my thoughts and what it managed to do to my skin, we have to talk a bit about the formulation. It’s the little sister to Double Wear, arguably the OG of full-coverage foundations.
You’ve probably heard of this original formula, and perhaps you’ve even used it. It’s legendary for being able to cover just about any texture and redness, and to withstand a full day without slipping.
