Essential drainage works on A78 to last two weeks in New Year

Motorists are being warned of drainage works taking place on the A78 in Ayrshire over two weeks in the New Year. Amey are carrying out “essential filter drainage works” between the Chapelhill Roundabout in Ardrossan and Hunterston from Thursday, January 16 until Saturday, February 1.

Temporary traffic lights will be in place overnight as the works are carried out from 8pm to 6am each night. A spokesperson for Amey said: “Amey, on behalf of Transport Scotland, is undertaking essential filter drainage work on the A78 between Chapelhill Roundabout and Hunterston, 3 miles north of Seamill, from Thursday, January 16 until Saturday, February 1, between the hours of 8pm and 6am each night.

This work will be carried out with overnight temporary traffic lights.
