England Women have lost the Women's World Cup final, making Spain world champions.The European champions lost 1-0 to Spain, in the historic final at Sydney's Stadium Australia.
England started the game well, as they seemed to have quashed any nerves when Lauren Hemp hit the crossbar on the 15 minute mark.
Just minuets later, Lionesses keeper Mary Earps made a sensational save to deny Salma Paralluelo from five yards out. It was Spain who went ahead first, through a fine finish from Olga Carmona just before the half hour mark.
England started to get frustrated as they struggled to make chances, and in the 41st minute Ella Toone was inches away from putting the ball in the back of the net.
