She was 98.Mrs Burns, a mum of two, gran of four, great gran of four and great great gran of one, was a former Guider, Duke of Edinburgh leader and dedicated charity fundraiser.She was awarded the freedom of North Ayrshire in 1989 in recognition of her sterling charity work.One of her passions was the Friendship Charity Committee which in a 20-year period raised around £40,000 which was donated to many worthy causes.She was also one of the people who set up the Action Research Toy Appeal and was involved in the early days of Irvine Folk.
