Footage has been shared of the emotional moment footballer Adam Clayton's dad was clapped out of ICU at North Manchester General Hospital after falling seriously ill with coronavirus.

The Middlesbrough FC player said his father had spent 51 days in intensive care, the majority of that in an induced coma and on a ventilator.

The footballer tweeted footage of his dad at the hospital on Tuesday evening. In the video, a member of the clinical team standing next to his father says: "He's getting ready to go now, he's packed all his things up. "He's been here for 51 days and he's going to the ward today.
