The nominations for the 73rd Primetime Emmy Awards are being announced Tuesday beginning at 11:30 a.m. ET/8:30 a.m. PT, the climax of a season in TV almost fully impacted by the pandemic.
To be eligible, programs must have aired between June 1, 2020, and May 31, 2021.Ron Cephas Jones and Jasmine Cephas Jones will reveal nominees in 23 primetime categories during this morning’s virtual presentation including the marquee Best Drama and Best Comedy races.
Both are wide open this year, with last year’s runaway comedy winner Schitt’s Creek ended and Drama winner Succession among the major shows not eligible this time around including perennial nominees like HBO’s Insecure, AMC’s Better Call Saul and Amazon’s The Marvelous Mrs.
