The 50-year-old actor has played Cain Dingle on the ITV tea time drama since 2000 - and he has kept himself in the dark over the character's fate.
Fans of Emmerdale will know that Cain has found his paths crossing with corrupt police officer DI Malone - played by Mark Womack, 59.
Speaking to the Press Association, Jeff explained that he has not read his scripts so is unable to confirm or deny fan fears that his character will be killed off after 20 years of service. "Mark and myself have just been really enjoying these sparring matches.
