Emmerdale legend Claire King has revealed that she was asked to do interviews in hotel rooms when she started out in her career, before she joined the long-running British soap.
The 58-year-old British actress, who is known for playing Kim Tate on Emmerdale and also Erica Holroyd on Coronation street between 2014 and 2017, opened up about experiencing ageism and sexism throughout her career working in television.
An incident that left a sour taste in her mouth was the many uncomfortable auditions she experienced where she was asked to read for parts in hotel rooms and that she subsequently walked out of them.
She recounted to the Sun On Sunday: ‘I’ve been to several castings where I’ve thought “this isn’t right, why am I in a hotel room?
