Emmerdale's James Hooton loves life in 'fantastic' Yorkshire village and his 'side job' as a barman

Bradford, with his family in 2020 and has been exploring the area ever since. He loves the local bars, rock climbing spots, moorland walks and the nearby historic village of Saltaire, which is a World Heritage Site.

James, who has played Sam Dingle for more than 28 years in the long-running soap, spoke to YorkshireLive from a pop-up bar called Ta'Hoots that he runs with business partner, John Tatton.

He also enjoys the local bars and the odd pint of Guinness. "It has got a lot of history here," he said. "I'm a climber and go to Baildon Bank (a disused quarry) for 'trad' climbing and bouldering. "James said no one had recognised him today and he was happy to be 'anonymous' although he said people were polite when they asked for 'selfies'.
