The Emmerdale star separated from Andrew, 44, late last year after discovering his affair with his BBC Better co-star Leila Farzad.
Andrew is thought to be living with Leila, 39, after leaving Amy, 40, heartbroken during the festive period. The former Emmerdale star tied the knot with Andrew in 2012, but has been left heartbroken and 'crying everyday' following their split in December.
Despite her heartache in recent months, Amy is looking for a "fresh start" and thinks Strictly would be the perfect opportunity.
