mirror.co.ukEmmerdale teen Jacob Gallgher was given a wake up call on Thursday night, as the ITV soap revisited a past storyline. Jacob's grandfather Eric Pollard was horrified when neighbour Dan Spencer was rushed to hospital after suffering an allergic reaction to a wrap he had eaten.
After his throat began to close up, the character went into anaphylactic shock as he struggled to breathe. Eric and Brenda Walker had found him collapsed on the floor at the garage, and called an ambulance.
But a quick-thinking Eric decided to race home and find an EpiPen in the hope of helping Dan by treating the reaction. His grandson Jacob has injectors at home because of his own allergy to nuts.
