On Monday's instalment (September 30), viewers watched as Tom emerged from unconsciousness in hospital, with Uncle Jimmy at his side, visibly in agony.
Quick on the scene were the detectives ready to take Tom's statement, though he could only describe the assault as a "blank" before abruptly ending their questions.
The plot thickened when Tom angrily called Belle, demanding to know why she hadn't greeted him and accusing her of the attack.
