Fans of the ITV soap know that Chas' lump in her breast was found by Dr Liam Cavanagh as they enjoyed a romantic liaison and after further tests, it was revealed she had cancer like her late mum Faith Dingle, who died in 2022.
After a breakaway ahead of her treatment, Chas returned to the village and was seen revealing to her family the cause of her cancer is the faulty BRCA2 gene.
The news meant that there was a high likelihood that her son Aaron as well as brothers Cain and Caleb could also have the faulty gene and further rocked with the realisation they could pass it on to their children.
