's Emma Roberts has reportedly apologized after her former costar publicly called her out for a demeaning and transphobic remark she made on the set of AHS: 1984.In an Instagram Live, actor, advocate, and businesswoman recounted a comment Roberts made while they were working together: Roberts whined (in jest) that Ross was “being mean” to her—that comment wasn't the problem—and after their director told the two “ladies” to be polite, Roberts asked, “Don’t you mean lady?” As Ross is a trans woman, this comment was clearly meant to invalidate her gender identity, and although Roberts apparently covered her mouth with her shirt like she was saying something naughty, it was a cruel and random remark, not to mention completely unprofessional.
There was no need to bring gender into the conversation except to be transphobic. Ross, understandably, was angry and refused to talk to Roberts for the rest of their time working together.
She also implied that Roberts displayed iffy behavior toward others in the cast, saying she'd “been playing mind games with everybody on the set.”This content can also be viewed on the site it from.(Though Ross used only initials while telling her story, it was immediately and unambiguously clear who she was talking about.)After Ross revealed the incident, the internet lit up with viewers calling out Roberts for her behavior, with bringing up other unsavory incidents from the actor's past, like her in 2017.
