Eminem to Open MTV VMAs 2024!
justjared.comEminem is opening the 2024 MTV VMAs! The global superstar will open the 2024 MTV Video Music Awards live on Wednesday (September 11) at 8 p.m.
ET from the UBS Arena in New York. The Death of Slim Shady (Coup de Grâce) performer will be giving fans the first TV show performance from his recently released 12th studio album. Eminem is tied for the most Moon Persons wins with Peter Gabriel, and last opened the VMAs in 2010 with a powerful performance of “Not Afraid,” followed by a duet with Rihanna for “Love the Way You Lie.” He has 8 nominations this year including Video of the Year, as well as VMAs Most Iconic Performance for his 2000 medley of “Real Slim Shady” and “The Way I Am,” which included a procession of 100+ lookalikes dressed as himself.
One win this year will make him the most awarded male artist in the show’s history. He already holds the title of the most wins by a rap artist.
He is the second most nominated artist, behind only Madonna at 71 noms. He last performed in 2022 with Snoop Dogg with “From the D 2 The LBC,” inspired by the world of the Otherside metaverse.
