Eminem and Drake have led tributes to late rapper Pat Stay, who has died at the age of 36 after being stabbed in Nova Scotia, Canada.
Stay was well known for his live battle raps and diss tracks. Just days before his death he released the video for his latest track directed at rapper The Game, who had previously made disparaging comments about Eminem.
When the news of his untimely passing broke Eminem posted a tribute to the rapper on Twitter. He wrote: “hiphop lost one of the best battlers of all time … RIP @patstay ..
KINGS NEVER DIE‼️” Drake also paid tribute, writing: ”RIP to the Sucka Free Boss one of my fav rappers ever.” Stay was reportedly found with stab wounds and transported to a nearby hospital, where he sadly died.The Halifax Police have released a statement: “The Nova Scotia Medical Examiner Service conducted an autopsy today and has ruled the manner of death to be a homicide.The victim has been identified as 36-year-old Patrick Wayne Stay. “Our thoughts are with the victim’s family and loved ones during this difficult time.” Fans of the late rapper have taken to social media to post their own tributes.
