Normal People and Aftersun star Paul Mescal says people have been pronouncing his surname wrong since he became famous.The Irish actor, who was recently nominated for an Oscar for his portrayal of a single dad in 2022 breakout film Aftersun, was speaking to The Hollywood Reporter when he discussed a common mispronunciation of his surname.“People get confused with how to pronounce my name because of the drink Mezcal,” he said, revealing that he pronounces it with a softer ‘s’ and ‘a’.“Everybody does it,” he added. “I pronounce it ‘Mescal’ and I wonder if I launched a tequila line I would have to, I would call it ‘Mescal’s Mezcal’.“I’m on the fence, I’m on the fence about that one,” he added.In a four-star review of Aftersun, NME wrote: “Liable to increase the cult around Mescal, following his BAFTA-winning turn in Normal People, Aftersun may be small in scale, but it leaves a distinct and lasting impression.

R Kelly will serve an extra year in prison on charges relating to possessing child pornography and child enticement.The disgraced singer was found guilty of six of 13 counts of owning and producing child pornography and enticing a minor back in September. On Thursday (February 23), he was sentenced to 20 years in prison but he will serve almost all of his sentence simultaneously alongside the jail term he received last year for racketeering and trafficking.The additional sentence means that in total, Kelly will now serve 31 years in prison and he will not be eligible for release until he is 80 years old.The central question relating to the sentencing in Kelly’s hometown of Chicago was whether Kelly would be ordered to serve the additional sentence simultaneously alongside or after the completion of his previous 30-year sentence.

The Clash, Gorillaz and The Good, The Bad and The Queen, has teamed up with singer-songwriter Galen Ayres for a new project.The pair are set to release their debut album, ‘Can We Do Tomorrow Another Day?’, under the name Galen & Paul, on May 19. The album comprises a collection of bilingual duets, with both singers singing in English and Spanish, in which they explore a variety of European music cultures.Per a press release, the album began coming together in lockdown, which Simonon spent in a Mallorcan fishing village writing music and painting. They may work in hospitality, but the women of “Bad Living” live in a draining, near-permanent state of hostility.
