Emergency services scrambled to Trafford Park fire

Firefighters were scrambled to a blaze involving a large quantity of bitumen being stored at a plant. Crews were called to a commercial building based on the Monde Trading Estate on Westinghouse Road, Trafford Park, on Friday afternoon.

Firefighters remained at the scene on Friday evening. There have been no reports of any injuries. "Three fire engines from Salford, Eccles and Stretford fire stations, as well as the Scorpion appliance from Salford and the turntable ladder from Manchester Central, were quickly mobilised to the incident. "The fire involved a large quantity of bitumen being stored in a commercial premises.

Firefighters used a covering jet to extinguish the fire. GMFRS crews remain at the scene, working to make the area safe." No further details have been revealed.
