Emergency service rescue teams pulled a man to safety from the River Irwell. Firefighters and police were called to a stretch of the water near to Dearmans Place, in Salford, close to the Lowry Hotel, in the early hours of Friday morning.
Crews used a ladder and buoyancy aids to bring the man to safety. He was treated at the scene by paramedics, before being taken to hospital in an ambulance.
Firefighters were at the scene for around 30 minutes. A statement from Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service said: "At 12.13am on April 17, three fire engines from Moss Side, Salford and Eccles, along with the boat from Eccles Fire Station and the technical response units from Leigh, attended.
