Emergency services descend on major road as car left on side following crash

A car was left on its side following a dramatic crash on a major road in Bolton. Emergency services were called to the scene in Moss Bank Way, in Astley Bridge, just before 5pm today (Friday).

It followed a smash involving two cars. An eyewitness reported hearing a loud 'bang' at the time of the crash. An image from the scene shows a white car on its side near to Vets4Pets. No one was seriously injured in the crash, Greater Manchester Police confirmed. In a statement, a spokesperson for Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service (GMFRS), said: “At just before 5pm on Friday (September 20) two fire engines from Bolton Central fire station and the enhanced rescue unit from Ashton fire station were called to reports of a crash involving two cars on Moss Bank Way, Bolton. “Firefighters helped rescue a person from one of the cars before handing them to the care of North West Ambulance Service.
