Emergency response sparked by reports of 'naked' man swimming in lake at Platt Fields Park

A man has been taken to hospital after police were called to reports of a naked person swimming in a lake at Platt Fields Park.

Emergency services were called to the Fallowfield Park at 1.50pm on Wednesday (27 May) afternoon to reports of a person in the water.

The incident prompted a major emergency response from GMP, Greater Manchester Fire Service and North West Ambulance Service.

Witnesses described seeing a naked man swimming in a lake, who could be heard shouting and becoming 'irate.' A police cordon was put in place around the lake as emergency services tried to negotiate with the male.
