Emeli Sande opened up about the possibility of starting a family with her new girlfriend, Yoana Karemova. The Scots Read All About It singer would "love a child" but wants to ensure she finds the correct balance with her career as a singer-songwriter.Emeli announced earlier this year that she had fallen in love with a woman, after previously being married to marine biologist Adam Gouraguine from 2012 until 2014.
The 35-year-old hitmaker was hopeful at the idea of one day starting a family with her girlfriend Yoana, but adds that she would also be happy focusing on music if a future as a parent doesn’t manifest.
She told The Sun: “I’d love to have a child one day. “It’s that balance – you want to get better at what you do, you want to keep pushing at your career, but at the same time you are a woman."If it happens then fantastic.
But if I’m supposed to dedicate myself to my music, then so be it. Hopefully one day we can start a family.”The singer told PA news she was "overwhelmed" by the reaction to her coming out, which was "so loving".She said: "I really wasn't expecting that.
