Emeli Sande announces engagement to girlfriend months after coming out

Hitmaker Emeli Sande has announced that she's engaged to her girlfriend Yoana Karemova after coming out earlier this year. The Read All About It, Next To Me and Beneath Your Beautiful singer revealed the joyous news on her Instagram that classical pianist Yoana had popped the question.

Posting a photo of herself showing off her sparkler of an engagement ring as she beamed with delight, Emeli exclaimed: "I said yes!" with a love heart emoji.

The congratulations came pouring in led by Radio 2 DJ Zoe Ball who said with two red rose emojis: "Congrats gorgeous girls." Emeili, 35, shared the news that she was in a same-sex relationship in an interview in March.
