The wheels started coming off for the 63-year-old talk show host in March last year when comedian Kevin T. Porter took to Twitterto request negative stories about Ellen in exchange for donations of $2 dollars (£1.42) per story to a charity.
He quickly raised $600 (£425.40) after selecting the top 300 stories after sending his tweet which read: "Right now we all need a little kindness.
