Electric blankets make a comeback as young Scots look to heat their bedrooms from 1p per night

Silentnight has found that Scots aged 25-34 are the most likely to own an electric blanket, and 48 per cent of the UK’s electric blankets are owned by those aged 18-34.

It's believed that younger people opting for electric blankets as more people spend time getting cosy at home. The cost effective ability of the electric blanket - which costs less than 1p per night to run - to create a cosy wintertime bedroom is hugely appealing to students and young families on tight budgets.Not to mention the fact that, with increased home working and lockdown guidelines keeping people in their houses for more hours per day, energy bills are to rise by up to 18 per cent this winter, totalling £1.9 billion in additional bills nationwide.
