A 91-year-old woman has been arrested after a three-year-old boy died after he was hit by a car in Edinburgh. Xander Irvine was struck by the vehicle on June 30 at around 2.30pm.
Police today announced that the woman has been arrested. A full report will be sent to the Procurator Fiscal. Little Xander was out for a walk with his mum, Victoria 37, when a red Kia hit them in front of a charity shop.
Both were rushed to hospital but Xander could not be saved. Following his death Xander's parents released a statement paying tribute to their "happy, bubbly, intelligent little boy".
