The elderly occupants of the house in Crosslee Crescent, Houston, returned at around 7.45pm on Friday to discover they had been robbed.The couple, both in their 70s, believe they disturbed the crooks who made off from the property through neighbouring gardens.The stolen jewellery and cash is believed to be worth a combined six-figure sum but the Asian gold is ‘priceless’ to the homeowners.Police are now warning others in the area to be alert over fears the thieves had scoped out the area in the days or weeks before the raid.
