House prices are at an all-time high and have increased by 8.2 per cent annually in year-on-year comparisons conducted by Halifax.
Across the UK, the average price in June was £258,204, with property values increasing by 1.4 per cent month-on-month. Russell Galley, managing director at Halifax, said: "House prices in April eclipsed the record high set the month before (£254,604) as the market continued to maintain its recent momentum.
In cash terms, almost £20,000 has been added to the value of the average home since the market had essentially come to a standstill in April 2020." And home experts at Hamptons recently revealed that bidding wars remain common after more than a third (38%) of homes sold in July had offers from three or more.
