Educating Yorkshire student, Musharaf Asghar, known as Mushy, was seen on the Channel 4 series working to overcome his stammer in 2013 - and he’s just reached a huge milestone.

Since the series aired, the star has graduated from university and has recently shared a heartwarming statement. He wrote: “Today I turned 28 YEARS OLD.

Which means 12 YEARS AGO I was on Educating Yorkshire. Over the years, teachers have helped me to push forward in all things I doubted myself I could achieve.Teachers gave me more than an education - they gave me a future.

I will forever be grateful.” Fans took to the comments responding, and couldn’t believe 12 years have passed since he appeared on television.
