A Scottish footballer is facing a lengthy jail term after being caught with a stash of cocaine and heroin worth more than £60,000 hidden in his home.
Craig Ferrier was snared in his home after a police raid, with a haul of drugs concealed behind an access hatch in his bathroom wall.The 22-year-old, who was signed with Edinburgh United, was also linked by cops to a second drug find.
His DNA was recovered from a bag containing heroin found inside a suspected stolen car.The striker pleaded guilty to two drug offences when he appeared from custody at Edinburgh Sheriff Court last month.
He was released on bail and returned to the dock to be sentenced at the city centre court yesterday.However, Sheriff Kenneth McGowan deferred sentencing until next month after he was told the social work reports previously called for had not been prepared.Ferrier netted five goals in 21 appearances for Edinburgh United last season.
