An Uber driver from Edinburgh, whose wife is expecting a baby, has been left unable to work after his car was wrecked by a hit-and-run driver.Dave Saubhari, 37, shared photos of his badly damaged work vehicle, which was hit by a motorist who then fled the scene on Sighthill Avenue between 5.30 and 7pm.Unable to work, Dave now worries about how he'll get his pregnant wife to her crucial medical appointments, Edinburgh Live reports.

He's appealing to neighbours and other drivers to check their doorbell and dash cam footage to help him find the person responsible. The worried dad believes it was a silver Volkswagen Passat that crashed into his car, as the driver left behind their front bumper after the collision."I rely on this car for work as this is my source of income," Dave said. "On top of that my wife is six months pregnant and we have to visit medical centres often for checkups.""And the irony of the situation is now that an Uber driver has to rely on other Uber drivers for commuting.

The car was parked in front of my residence near the Sighthill roundabout.""I believe I have been able to find the car in the area but I need witnesses to come forward so I can prove it was the same car."Local police have confirmed they are investigating the incident.A statement from Police Scotland read: "About 7.55pm on Friday, 23 February, 2024, we were made aware of damage to a car parked in Sighthill Avenue, Edinburgh.""Enquiries are ongoing."
