An Edinburgh-based man scooped an astonishing £225,000 jackpot from a mere £12 bet while on a trip to Las Vegas. Peter Ferguson, 48, was left pinching himself after returning home from Sin City in April 2022, where he had secured a one-in-two-million win.Peter, who runs an events management company, was on a five-day jaunt to the gambling capital of the world with a close friend, hoping to enjoy some of the legendary shows and casinos.
But he had no idea just how much he would enjoy the holiday, where he literally hit the jackpot, reports Edinburgh Live. The pair's adventure took an extremely fortuitous turn when they went to The Palazzo casino the day after arriving.
Initially considering Blackjack, the pals opted for Texas Hold 'Em instead, and Peter's friend played a few hands before he joined in and struck gold 4,872 miles away from home.Reflecting on the whirlwind experience, Peter said: "I decided to set off for a short break with a friend for five nights in Vegas.
The plan was to just go to relax and let the hair down a bit, maybe go and see some shows and play some games at the casino, just to take in the experience really."It happened on the Friday morning, the day after we arrived.
