The biggest and most well known in Scotland are the ones in Edinburgh, which run from the end of November to the start of January.
New research, conducted by car rental website DiscoverCars.com, has revealed the most popular Christmas markets according to TikTok hashtags.
Edinburgh's iconic markets topped the list, with the hashtag #EdinburghChristmasMarket received a total of 3.3 million views on the platform.
