Pubs across the central belt may be shut for two weeks but air travellers can still enjoy a bevvy at Edinburgh airport. Both All Bar One and Wetherspoons are continuing to serve booze thanks to different rules for ‘airside’ bars.
That means airport watering holes are exempt from the new restrictions announced by Nicola Sturgeon last week to stem the spread of coronavirus.
A post on the Edinburgh Airport All Bar One Instagram page read: "In light of the recent government guidelines issued, we have been authorised to remain open for business as usual." A source told Edinburgh Live that staff at All Bar One were told the airside venues were "exempt" from the new restrictions.
