Eddie Van Halen's widow Janie Liszewski has spoken out for the first time about his tragic death in an emotional post. Devastated Janie said her heart and soul were 'shattered into a million pieces' after her husband sadly lost his ten year battle with cancer on Tuesday.

A day after she said her goodbyes, Janie took to Instagram to share an open letter addressed to her rock star husband. Janie, 50, said she 'never knew it was possible to cry so many tears or feel such incredible sadness'.

Revealing her affectionate nicknames for Eddie, Janie said the letter was for 'My husband, my love, my Peep.' She went on: "'My heart and soul have been shattered into a million pieces.
