Neil Lennon

Neil Francis Lennon (born 25 June 1971) is a Northern Irish football coach and former player who is the manager of Scottish Premiership club Celtic. During his playing career he represented English clubs Manchester City, Crewe Alexandra and Leicester City.

Lennon moved to Scottish club Celtic in 2000, where he made over 200 appearances and was appointed captain in 2005. Before retiring as a player, he returned to England and played for Nottingham Forest and Wycombe Wanderers. Lennon made 40 appearances for Northern Ireland in nine years, scoring two goals. Lennon was appointed manager of Celtic in March 2010, initially in a caretaker capacity after the departure of Tony Mowbray.

Eddie Howe is the man Parkhead chiefs have set their sights on and a deal to bring him to Glasgow is edging ever closer. Record Sport revealed earlier this week the former Bournemouth boss had held advanced talks on becoming Neil Lennon's successor and had knocked back offers from the Premier League to wait on Celtic.

That included turning down Sheffield United and another unnamed club who still have a manager in place.Speculation has reached fever pitch in the days since and the consensus appears to be that the appointment would be a winner with fans.A report on Friday night claimed Howe has now reached an agreement in principle to take the job and could arrive at Parkhead next week.
