Edward Christopher Sheeran, MBE (born 17 February 1991) is an English singer-songwriter. In early 2011, Sheeran independently released the extended play, No. 5 Collaborations Project. After signing with Asylum Records, his debut album, + (pronounced "plus"), was released in September 2011. It topped the UK and Australian charts, reached number five in the US, and has since been certified eight-times platinum in the UK.
The album contains the single "The A Team", which earned him the Ivor Novello Award for Best Song Musically and Lyrically. In 2012, Sheeran won the Brit Awards for Best British Male Solo Artist and British Breakthrough Act. "The A Team" was nominated for Song of the Year at the 2013 Grammy Awards, where he performed the song with Elton John.
Ed Sheeran is looking back on the time that he got smoked out by Snoop Dogg. The 32-year-old “Shape of You” hitmaker revealed that he hung out with the 51-year-old “Drop It Like It’s Hot” rap icon in Melbourne, Australia recently.
While in Snoop‘s dressing room, Ed wound up going “blunt for blunt for blunt for blunt” with him.
As someone who doesn’t smoke “at all,” it was an intoxicating experience for Ed. He looked back on getting stoned with Snoop while on Conan O’Brien‘s Conan O’Brien Needs a Friend podcast. The experience went well enough for Ed until it got a little too potent: “I’ve had a good amount of conversation so I have a bit and I’m like, ‘I don’t feel too bad, this is good,’ then I have a bit more…then I have a bit more…then I have a bit more.” He continued, saying, “I just remember looking at him like, ‘I can’t see right now.’” Sounds like an unforgettable experience to say the least… If you were unaware, Ed recently dropped a new album!
